USA BOXING
ANNUAL AWARD CRITERIA

DR. RAY WESSON PHYSICIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD
MARCO SARFARAZ OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR AWARD
COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD

 

Criteria:

            Number of years in the sport
           
Accomplishments in boxing—clinics, tournaments, training camps, etc.
            
LBC involvement
           
Knowledge of the rules and regulations
           
Positive role model
           
Community involvement

THE LORING BAKER HALL OF FAME AWARD

follows the same critieria, but the minimum number of years involved in boxing is 15 years.

GRASS ROOTS AWARD

CRITERIA:

 

1.         Must be a registered member of USA Boxing in good standing

2.         Cannot have held office, be an officer, committee chair, or have been on a national committee.  This includes AIBA positions

3.         Must be someone who is active at the local level and who puts forth the effort to make a better amateur boxing program, and is a leader and role model to the youth of the community

4.         List any achievements made by this individual in his/her community.

 

This award is intended to recognize individuals who have never held any position, or served outside the local level.  I’m sure there is an exceptional individual in your LBC who has made outstanding and unselfish contributions to the local boxing program and its athletes and is deserving of national recognition.

 

Please make your nomination on the attached form, providing as much detail as you can about his or her accomplishments and contribution to your local boxing program.

 

 

MICHAEL NUNNALLY AWARD OUTLINE

 

CRITERIA:

 

The Michael Nunnally award is given annually to an athlete who demonstrates continuous excellence in the following areas:

 

1.         Education:  Actively pursuing a well-rounded education.

2.         Family Values

3.         Community Service:  Involved in serving the community and giving of his/her talents

4.         Teamwork/Willingness/Support:  Support of other athletes or individuals, assisting in their development of psychological, physical, and social graces.

 

The athlete should demonstrate excellence in each of these areas.  Please send a detailed letter outlining the athlete’s activities and background in each area.  Corroborating letters from ministers, teachers, coaches, employers, family members and teammates may be included.

The athlete should possess values that include:

            Helping others

            Innovation

            Teamwork

            Professionalism

            Faith

 

Include in your nomination letter descriptions of how these values are demonstrated by the nominee.  Again, corroborating letters and other materials may be provided.
