INTRODUCTION Welcome to the 2006 Ringside Augusta Summer Boxing Classic. This is our fourth year and we are looking forward to another outstanding tournament. It is our plan to provide you with a great opportunity for competition.
HEADQUARTERS The Augusta Towers Hotel (Future home of DoubleTree - Augusta) will be the Host Hotel. It is located at 2651 Perimeter Park Way, Augusta, GA 30909 706-855-8100 Make your reservations early!! There is a special rate of $69.00. for up to 4 in a room. Just tell them you are with the tournament. There will be airport pickup with prior itinerary notification.

ATHLETE ELIGIBILITYEach athlete must be the correct age and weight for the division entered. All athletes must be currently registered with USA Boxing and must have a 2006 passbook.

FEES/ENTRIES
Ringside will have an entry fee of $5.00 to help defray administrative costs. Return the entry form no later than June 9th, 2006. Please complete the entry form and return with check or money order. Mail entry form(s) with $5.00 fee to: Augusta/Ringside Tournament

REGISTRATION
Wednesday June 14, 2006, 12 noon to 9 p.m, at the Augusta Towers Hotel Amphitheater. All athletes, coaches and officials must register to receive their credentials. (ATHLETES AND PASSBOOKS MUST BE PHYSICALLY IN AUGUSTA AT REGISTRATION NO LATER THAN 9:00 PM, JUNE 14TH)
COMPETITION WEIGHT
Please indicate your weight class on the application so that your entry can be placed into the computer. However, the official weight will be determined at registration. All athletes must declare their weight when they register. The weight recorded at registration will be the weight contested. Weights can be changed any time during registration. But when registration closes, all weights are final.
COACHES’ MEETING
Mandatory coach’s meeting at 9:15 pm following the close of registration. This
is to confirm your athlete is in the proper weight and age division.
DRAW
The draw will follow the coach’s meeting.
COMPETITION
Competition will be June 15 thru 17, 2006
Competition will take place at 6:00 pm each day. There may be a 12:00 noon session if needed.
WEIGH-INS & PHYSICALS WILL BE HELD AT THE TOWERS HOTEL AMPHITHEATER
ALL ATHLETES MUST REPORT TO WEIGH-INS AT 7:00 A.M. THE DAY THEY ARE COMPETING. THERE IS NO WAY-IN UNTIL THE DAY YOU BOX No coaches will be allowed at the scale. If a boxer is not more than 2 lbs. over the weight limit, the boxer will have until 9:00 a.m. to make weight. If the boxer does not make weight by 9:00 a.m., he will be disqualified. A trial scale will be available throughout the tournament.

OFFICIALS
Experienced timekeepers, judges, referees, weighmasters and clerks are welcome to participate. All officials must be currently registered and certified. All officials must bring their passbooks to the tournament.
COACHES
Must be currently registered with USA Boxing for 2006 and have attended a certification clinic within the previous 24 months to be eligible to work their athlete’s corner.
COMPETITION ROUNDS
Bantam 3 – 1 minute
Junior 3 – 1 minute
Intermediate: 3 – 1-1/2 minute
GLOVES
60 through 154 Lbs. 10 Oz.
AWARDS
Boys Tournament Champions that compete will receive a Championship Belt.
All uncontested Champions will not receive a belt. No belts will be awarded to Girl’s bouts and boys matched bouts which are bouts made outside of the designated weight classes. They will receive a medal only.
MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
USA Boxing approved competition headgear; form-fitted mouthpiece; protective cup.
HAND WRAPS
Must conform to USA Boxing rules.
TRAINING FACILITY AND TIMES
The training facility is the Augusta Boxing Club located at 1929 Walton Way, just a few bocks from the Partridge Inn.
The training time will be posted.
There will be no training time on Saturday, the day of the finals.
