The USA Boxing Board of Directors voted at their March Board meeting to restore travel stipends for the 2007 National Championships which will be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The dollars for the restoration of the National Championship support are available as a result of a new agreement between the USAB Board of Directors and USOC Executive Director, Jim Scherr. This agreement will allow USA Boxing to meet the projected 2007 budget obligations without debt. USA Boxing is also working with the USOC and other sources to seek additional funding for the LBCs for programs and/or administrative improvements.
The travel stipends will be awarded to the Regional and Group Member contingents based on the formula used in previous National Championships The formula for travel stipends will be posted on the USA Boxing Web Site.
Female boxers will be extended the same travel stipends as the males who qualify to attend the tournament. Referees and Tournament Officials expenses will be reimbursed in the same manner as previous events.

The Board and Executive Director are committed to finding additional sources of revenue to support the mission. However, under no circumstance will USAB be allowed to operate with debt.
This BOD policy will continue to be:
1. Operate a balanced budget.
2. Pay Labor and organizational operations cost first. 3. Seek new sources of revenue and additional funding for LBC funding grants and athlete support.
