The USA Boxing Elite High Performance Team notched a perfect day three at the World Boxing Cup: China 2026 as the Stars and Stripes went undefeated across three bouts. Team USA saw dominant performances from Salim Ellis-Bey (60 kilograms), Marie Rosendo (65 kilograms), and Lorenzo Patricio (55 kilograms), and all three American boxers now advance to the quarterfinals in Guiyang City, China.

The flawless day began with Ellis-Bey, who defeated Kazakhstan’s Serik Temirzhanov in the 60 kg bout. The two-time Team USA medalist earned a 5-0 victory over Temirzhanov after winning the opening round 5-0, the second round 4-1, and the final round 5-0. This marked Ellis-Bey’s second win of the tournament, advancing him to the quarterfinals, where the Philadelphia native will now box against Uzbekistan’s Abdumalik Khalokov, the 2025 World Boxing Championships gold medalist, on Friday, June 19.

Following Ellis-Bey, Rosendo made her tournament debut in impressive fashion. The Florida native secured an RSC win in the third round over Mongolia’s Tsetsegdari Myagmarsuren. Rosendo came out of the blue corner strong, winning the opening round 5-0 with four judges scoring it 10-8 in her favor. She then followed the dominant first round with another dominant second round, winning 5-0, before forcing the referee to stop the final round. Rosendo advances to the quarterfinals, where she will face Kazakhstan’s Aida Abikeyeva on Friday, June 19.

Concluding the day for the red, white, and blue was Patricio, who earned his second straight victory in China. The Hawaii native secured a 4-1 victory over Taiwan’s Chia-Feng Peng, advancing to the quarterfinals. Patricio will now face Mongolia’s Bilguunsaikhan Kharkhuu for the second time this year after defeating Kharkhuu 5-0 in the semifinals at the 77th International Boxing Tournament.

Team USA will have two boxers entering the ring Thursday, June 18, as Noelle Haro (51 kilograms) will get the day started against Mongolia’s 2024 Paris Olympian Yesugen Oyuntsetseg. Haro is making her tournament debut on Thursday and is coming off a bronze-medal run at the World Boxing Cup: Brazil 2026. She will face Oyuntsetseg in Session 1, Ring A, Bout 4 at approximately 12:45 a.m. ET. Following Haro, Marcus Luther (65 kilograms) will return to the ring in the Round of 16 against Brazil’s 2025 World Boxing Championships silver medalist Yuri Falcao in Session 1, Ring A, Bout 5 at approximately 1:00 a.m. ET.

At the World Boxing Cup: China 2026, USA Boxing will be led by Head Coach Billy Walsh (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and assisted by Elite High Performance Coach Nikki Burleson (Oklahoma City, Okla.) and Billy Rafalko (Philadelphia, Pa.)
