Champions Crowned as 2026 USA Boxing Junior Olympics and Summer Festival Concludes

The 2026 USA Boxing Junior Olympics and Summer Festival concluded Saturday after six days of competition at the Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center in Wichita, Kan. The final day of action featured 118 championship bouts across the Bantam, Intermediate, Junior, Youth, and Elite male and female divisions. Champions were crowned in all 118 bouts as USA Boxing wrapped up its second Junior Olympics and Summer Festival in Wichita in the past three years.


The Bantam division opened the championship Saturday with 10 female bouts followed by 13 male bouts. The Intermediate division followed with 11 female bouts and 20 male bouts before the Junior division featured 12 female bouts and 17 male bouts. The Youth and Elite divisions closed out the tournament with nine Youth female bouts, 11 Youth male bouts, seven Elite female bouts, and 10 Elite male bouts.


Among the 118 tournament champions crowned on day six, Brijhana Epperson (Kansas City, Mo.) wrapped up a successful tournament with a 4-1 win in the Youth female 1125 lbs bracket.

Winning this gold medal so close to home means a lot to me. I knew my opponent was going to be tough, but I stayed focused through every round, and I'm proud to come away with the gold medal.

Epperson is a Kansas City native who represents Team USA on USA Boxing's Youth High Performance Team, where she recently won her first international gold medal at the 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok, Thailand. Epperson will return to the international stage this October with the rest of the Youth High Performance Team at the U19 World Boxing Championships in Montenegro.


The week-long event featured more than 1,180 registered boxers representing 46 states. Competition included two daily sessions from Monday through Thursday before concluding with one session each on Friday and Saturday. Across six days of action, USA Boxing hosted 1,047 bouts at the Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center.
