USA Boxing’s Elite High Performance Squad is traveling to Girardot, Colombia, for the 2026 Copa America, marking its second international tournament of the year. The Squad is coming off a dominant run at its first international event, with all eight boxers earning medals at the 2026 GeeBee Boxing Tournament in Helsinki, Finland.

USA Boxing will send 13 boxers to the 2026 Copa America, including eight men and five women. Leading the men’s team includes two-time international gold medalist, Nnajai Wright (90+ Kilograms). The Richmond native made his international debut in July, 2025 after securing four wins for a gold medal with the USA Boxing Youth High Performance Team at the 2025 Brandenburg Cup in Germany. Wright followed that dominant performance by winning the 2025 USA Boxing National Championships along with a gold medal at the 2026 GeeBee Boxing Tournament in Helsinki, Finland.

Also winning gold in Helsinki on the Men’s team was Moises Rodriguez (55 kilograms). The Texas native made his highly anticipated international debut and secured two unanimous decision victories, earning his first international gold medal.

Rounding out the men’s team includes Yahir Diaz-Martinez (60 kilograms), Dustin Jimenez (65 kilograms), Kentrell Rouser (70 kilograms), Tyric Trapp (80 kilograms), Malachi Georges (90 kilograms), and Gilbert Kabamba (90+ Kilograms). Diaz-Martinez, Jimenez, and Rouser all represented USA Boxing’s Elite High Performance Squad in Finland and secured their first international medal with a bronze. As for Georges and Trapp, they have international experience as well, as Georges won silver at the World Boxing Challenge Grand Prix Usti Nad Labem in 2025 and represented Team USA at the 2025 World Boxing Championships. Trapp won the 2025 USA Boxing National Championships in his weight division and recently made his international debut earlier this year with USA Boxing’s Elite High Performance Team at the World Boxing Cup - Stage 1.

On the women’s side, Deborah Grant (57 kilograms) is coming off a dominant gold medal performance at the 2026 GeeBee Boxing Tournament, where she earned the tournament’s Best Female Boxer Award after winning three bouts, including one by RSC and two by unanimous decision.

Joining Grant is 2024 Paris Olympian Jennifer Lozano (51 kilograms), who will return to the ring for USA Boxing alongside Jayshannet Zapata (54 kilograms), Alexis Proctor (65 kilograms), and Kendra Samargis (75 kilograms). Zapata and Proctor are both coming off medal runs in Finland, with Zapata securing silver and Proctor earning bronze. As for Samargis, she will be making her international debut in Colombia.

Throughout the competition at the 2026 Copa America Tournament, the United States will be led by USA Boxing’s National Development Coach Edward Fonteneaux (Fayetteville, N.C.), and assisted by Alex Love (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Billy Rafalko (Philadelphia, Pa.), and Jeffrey Nimo (Grand Prairie, Texas).
