National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA)
Call for Candidates for Regional Chairpersons
USA Boxing is pleased to announce a Call for Candidates for National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA) Regional Chairpersons. Since NCBA is a recognized as an Local Boxing Committee (LBC) of USA Boxing, NCBA will be required to follow “best practices” voting procedures and criteria for non-Board of Directors. The Call for Candidates is for NCBA’s rule modification to seat three Regional Chairpersons. The three regions are: East, West, and Mid-West.
Eligible Non-athlete NCBA members shall/will nominate themselves via an online application at https://forms.office.com/r/bDZpPmthKF by May 13, 2024 by 5:00 pm MST.
Candidate Qualifications Include:
- Must have been a registered NCBA non-athlete member for at least sixty (60) days immediately prior to the election (by April 19, 2024).
- Must be a member of a club/university within the region representing.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must not have been removed from the Board of Directors either by a Board of Governor’s petition or by the USA Boxing national office within the last five (5) years.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Organizing events within their respective region.
- Working with NCBA’s Registration Chairperson and the Regional Registration Chairperson to meet members’ needs.
- Assisting/advising the NCBA Board of Directors as needed. (Regional Chairpersons are not Board Members and do not have Board of Director voting rights.)
- Be the contact person for their region.
Attend onboarding via Zoom after the election (Regional Chairpersons will not attend the June In-Person Board Training).
Call for Candidacy Timeline (based on bylaw stipulations and staffing):
May 6: Call for Candidates Begins
May 13: Applications Due
May 13-17: Verification of Candidates’ Qualifications
May 17: Eligible Candidates Information Posted on the Website at https://www.usaboxing.org/lbc-election
June 18: Voting Begins
June 25: Voting ends
Voter Requirements: Be a NCBA Non-Athlete Member in good standing within the region for 60 days prior to the election (by April 19, 2024).
Winner by Simple Majority: Candidates will be determined by the Simple Majority of voters within their region; meaning the candidate with the most votes over the other candidates will be declared the winner.
