Colorado
President#
I have true compassion for our great sport of amateur boxing. My Husband formed a non-profit in the 1980's, Hard Knocks Amateur Boxing, in which I am on the BOD and started as a Coach. I also currently hold a BOD position on the Colorado Golden Gloves non-profit organization. I have been retired from my Federal job for 18 years. I have the time, desire, and the dedication to serve on a Board that works as a TEAM. Team work is the only path to success and the only forward direction that is positive for our athletes. I have been in many positions over the years within USA Boxing that has put me in many different leadership roles such as: COO and Secretary for National Silver Gloves (current); COO (NOGGOA) for National Golden Gloves (current); Treasurer for Colorado Golden Gloves (current); Franchise Holder for CO/NM Franchise (current); State Silver Gloves Co-Director (current); Former LBC Chief of Officials; Former LBC Secretary; Former Regional JO Coordinator. I am the current Colorado LBC President and have been since 2009. I want to continue to step up and make a difference for the good of our sport and to lead by example and continue to move our LBC in a forward direction especially for our great athletes!
In 2017, I sat down with my mentor Jose Santiago as we normally did, and we discussed change and the separation between leadership, coaches, boxers, and officials. We discussed ways to bridge that gap, but we wouldn't be able to bridge that gap without to getting involved and getting a perspective from all angles. So that is what my mentor groomed me to do. I grew up in bare knuckle boxing. I became a coach and eventually the owner at Santiago's Boxing. The same time I became a coach, I became an official as well. I've worked my way up to Level 2 and will be qualified to become a level 3 official in 2024. The final step was to get a position of leadership, which I was able to do by becoming the Vice President of the Colorado LBC. The next step is to start the process of bridging the gab by becoming President and influencing change at the highest position within our LBC, the President.
Santiago's Boxing Club is a 501c3 Non-profit organization that I am the owner and director of. We have grown into one of the most successful gyms in Colorado grooming multiple National Champions, Regional Champions, and a host of State Champions. The same success that we have been able to have in the ring, I desire to bring to our LBC as well. I own several companies one of which is A-TEAM Consulting firm, where I consult and help new business owners start their businesses to include Non-profits. I am also the owner of King Naib Presents, a promotional and networking company, that specializes in Television, Radio, and Social Media. I look to bring my knowledge of boxing, non-profit organizations, and media to push the Colorado LBC to new levels in boxing.
Vice President#
I have been involved with amateur boxing since 1976. I have held many positions with USA Boxing, Colorado LBC President 2000-2008, Regional Four Corners Regional Director 2000-2008, Colorado State Silver Gloves Director1998-2009. I own and run my own non-profit organization Pueblo Stylers Boxing Club, Inc. 2002-Current. I am currently a Silver Level Coach for USA Boxing. I volunteer and work countless hours for my own organization and USA Boxing. I own and manage my own construction company in Pueblo, CO 1997-Current.
Boxing has been part of my life since I was a teenager growing up in El Paso Texas. But For the past 23 years, I have been extensively involved in all facets of the boxing spectrum in Colorado. I am owner of a steel building erection company named Spartan Steel & Iron. I also have a couple of other businesses such as a welding and custom fabrication shop, laser engraving company, and co-founder of a tech company.
I am President of Ghosttown Charities, a non-profit organization that has helped and donated to Cancer organizations, suicide awareness and prevention groups, flood and natural disaster victims, families in need, and youth programs in our communities. We have provided guidance and support to coaches hosting their first events and helping boxing events throughout our LBC to be successful through donations, logistics support, funding, and overall event coordination. I have donated venues and provided staff to help our local boxing events grow and provide more opportunities to boxers, resources for coaches, and support for our officials.
I am Vice Chairman of the Colorado Golden Gloves and have been on the board for the past 5 years during which we were awarded 1st place in the Nation last year and 2nd place in the Nation this year. I am truly honored to have been involved during this historic moment in Colorado boxing. Growing and uplifting the prestige of our tournaments in Colorado has been a mission for me and the progress has been outstanding.
I am owner of the Longmont Boxing Club in Longmont Colorado where over many years we have continued to change lives and provide an outreach in our community for our youth. Our members see our gym as a home away from home and to many it is a sanctuary.
I would be honored if my LBC decides I am their choice for Vice President. And I will put forth a strong effort in making our LBC the best across the nation!
Secretary#
Winner by Acclamation (Ran unopposed)
I began volunteering with USA Boxing in 2010 while I was living in Oregon and while I have served as an official during that time I have also helped the different LBCs by volunteering at events and helping with administrative things.
My background is in grant writing and I have shared my talents with the local and national boxing community. During COVID I offered a free Grant Writing for Boxing course. The course was ultimately picked up by USA Weightlifting where I taught the course to their membership (15-20 gym owners each class from across the US), three times over a two year period.
Specifically related to the role of Secretary; while working for the Colorado State Patrol I was the staff person assigned to the Colorado Task Force on Drunk and Impaired Driving. In this role I took the notes for each meeting, drafted the annual report which was shared with the Colorado legislature, and kept the membership roster up to date. More recently I was a federal contractor and took notes when federal employees reviewed grant applications and made recommendations on changes needed before the application could be funded. With 133 grant awards, my team and I were able to send draft minutes out within 48-hours of each meeting.
In the role of Secretary for the CO LBC, I will commit to being present at required meetings and providing draft minutes to the appropriate people for review within a week of the meeting.
Treasurer#

I have been the treasurer for the last 8 years and I’m proud of my work done. I have a degree in business.
Chief of Officials#
Winner by Acclamation (Ran unopposed)
I retired from the Denver Police Department (DPD) where I was a fitness instructor for the Department as well as a DARE instructor in the community. For more than 30 years I was an instructor for the Department’s leadership school as well as provided problem solving classes. During my tenure with DPD I served as a school resource officer for 10 years, again teaching problem solving skills to students and the public.
I have operated the Denver Police Brotherhood Boxing Gym, a registered 501c3, since 2008. In my role I have been a boxing instructor, the coordinator of the juvenile diversion program, a fundraiser and an organizer of boxing shows. I have been a boxing coach since 2019.
The Brotherhood Boxing Gym has purchased a competition size boxing ring, other competition items and a trailer to store and transport the equipment. We provide free of charge the equipment to gyms who are in need of the necessary items to host their own show. We strongly feel this is a part of growing the sport of boxing throughout Colorado.
I believe the Chief of Officials should provide all the necessary requirements to officials to achieve their goals, this may include reaching Level I, II, and III; participating in national and international tournaments; conducting clinics for recruitment of officials to name a few.
I strongly encourage LBC clubs to recruit officials from their gym to have representation at boxing events. Education/training/leadership is helpful in recruitment and training of officials.
My experience in teaching has led me to believe it is important to provide positive feedback to others in order to get the best outcome for both the officials and our boxers.
I have been a USA Boxing Official since 1996, and have served as Chief of Officials since 2011. I am the current Chief of Officials for the Colorado LBC and the Colorado Golden Gloves. I was inducted into the Colorado Golden Gloves Hall of Fame as the Official of the Year in 2019.
It would be my honor to continue to serve as the Colorado Chief of Officials as we continue to grow and expand amateur boxing in our State to benefit the grassroots, youth and elite Boxers.
