Connecticut
President#
Run-offs: David Salinas, Angel Morales and Luis Alberto Rosa
Being an active “intern-President” for Connecticut is a fantastic experience to fully understand what are the obligations and needs are for my LBC.
Literally growing up within this LBC from 2003 to present, I’ve experienced and seen all kinds of point of views.
Being a past active boxer to an active coach, to now an active official; I see myself still helping the local boxing community as well as out neighboring
states/Lbc’s surrounding Connecticut.
Now with experience being now 40 years old I will fully commit to being an active contributor to the Connecticut’s Lbc with my best abilities.
With that said, the work I helped put in with this intern board has changed for the better within the Connecticut’s LBC.
Things have changed positively for the local boxing community as it being more actively putting on shows and so forth than it has in a long time.
So again with all the shows being put on, I couldn’t have done it without this new intern board that we have for Connecticut. I see that we have grown together and established who we are and what we stand for to keep the boxing community going!
I hope this message finds you well. My purpose in reaching out to you today is to inform you of my decision to run for the esteemed position of President of USA Boxing of Connecticut. As a dedicated sports enthusiast with many years of experience, including my previous role as Vice President in the great state of Connecticut, I am confident in my ability to lift amateur boxing to new and unprecedented heights.
Having closely witnessed the challenges faced by our boxing community while serving as Vice President, I understand the potential our program holds in shaping the lives of the youth. It is with great determination that I aim to utilize this esteemed position to introduce a scholarship program that would open the doors to countless opportunities for aspiring athletes.
I firmly believe that education is the foundation upon which we build successful futures. By establishing a robust scholarship program, we can ensure that talented young athletes, regardless of background or financial standing, receive the support they deserve. Through this program, we can create a platform that provides the necessary resources for these individuals to not only pursue their sporting dreams but also access quality education and secure bright futures beyond the ring.
Moreover, I am committed to implementing progressive policies that prioritize the overall well-being of our boxing community. I envision a program that not only produces exceptional athletes but also fosters a culture of inclusivity, fairness, and sportsmanship. With transparency and open communication as key pillars of my administration, I will actively engage with our dedicated and hard working coaches, athletes, parents, and officials, listening closely to their concerns and ideas, thereby ensuring a truly representative and collaborative organization.
However, achieving these ambitious goals cannot be done alone. I have invited all our amateur boxing gyms in Connecticut to join me in this noble cause by participating in the upcoming elections and casting their vote in favor of progress and a brighter future for the youth of our community. Together, we can create positive change and position USA Boxing of Connecticut as an exemplary program that not only develops outstanding boxers but also shapes the lives of young individuals for the better.
If I have the honor to be elected to serve as President, I will work wholeheartedly and tirelessly to unite and work towards a brighter future for the children of Connecticut's boxing community!
I have been a boxing coach for over 20 years. I founded a non-profit boxing gym in 2009 that was very successful and ranked in the top ten boxing gyms for the most registered amateur boxers in the United States. I have several of my amateur fighters who have competed and won dozens in national tournaments and national Golden Gloves in consecutive years. I have volunteered hundreds of hours in my facility but i have also assisted many other boxing gyms in organizing and matching bouts for their events. I not only train, teach, and mentor amateur fighters but I also train and teach professional boxers that started with me as youth in my program. My pro fighters are upcoming and undefeated with promising careers in the sport.
I believe that I am a good candidate for this position because of my expertise in the sport but mostly for my love and passion to see our CONNECTICUT LBC be the best it can be in all areas, financing, leadership, and growing our officials team. I enjoy teaching and helping others grow to their maximum potential.
Vice President#
I’ve been the Director & Head Coach of Ortiz Boxing Gym 501(c)(3) non profit for 16 years.
Running for Vice President to help make our LBC stronger and keep our commitments to the youth amateur boxers in our state.
I own and operate Blue Boy Boxing Club in Thomaston CT.
I currently hold the interim position as vice president. I also serve as registration chair for Connecticut.
I also coach boxers and teach boxing at our club. I am involved in both worlds and I see what's missing in them.

Chief of Officials#
Winner by Acclamation (Ran unopposed)
I am interested in serving on the board for a multitude of reasons. One being I want to continue to building a cohesive unity with all members of our LBC. I have been the interim Chief of Officials since this past January and since that time, there have been more shows over the summer months, we have obtained more officials, and ultimately I have seen a boost in morale among all members of this LBC.
My career is that of an elementary classroom teacher. Classroom management and people skills are imperative on a daily basis to have a classroom operate as a well oiled machine. Being in this field has given me valuable experience to help me be a solid leader and I have applied those skill sets to be a successful Chief of Officials.
I cannot express how much I love USA Boxing, but more than that our LBC in Connecticut. There are tremendously talented boxers, dedicated coaches, as well as dedicated officials. It will be my absolute honor to continue to lead this LBC if elected as Chief of Officials this fall.
