2023 Youth Brandenburg Cup Begins Tomorrow

The 2023 Youth Brandenburg Cup begins tomorrow for 12 of the 13 boxers representing Team USA in Lindow, Germany. Full day one schedule for USA Boxing can be found below.


The competition, which includes over 100 boxers from nine different countries, will be divided into three sessions for the opening day of competition, with the first bout scheduled to begin at 5:00 a.m. ET.


USA Boxing will have three boxers compete in the opening session, Emmanuel Chance (East Orange, N.J.), Bruno Rios (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Juan Rivera (Philadelphia, Pa.). All three boxers will be making their international debut for Team USA.


The second session of the day, which will begin at 9:00 a.m. ET, will be a full session for the Americans, as six boxers will step into the ring, including 2022 Youth World Championships bronze medalist Sa’rai Brown-El (Marietta, Ga.).


Joining Brown-El in that session includes Perla Bazaldua (Los Angeles, Calif.), Jennah Creason (Visalia, Calif.), Shamiracle Hardaway (Lagrange, Ga.), Benjamin Johnson (Springdale, Md.) and Ethan Smith (Las Vegas, Nev.).


The final session of the day will be championship bouts for three members of Team USA. Ivy Enriguez (El Paso, Texas) and Sindi Salazar (Carthage, Texas) will go head-to-head for the 50 kilogram gold medal, while Gabriella Tellez (San Antonio, Texas) faces Germany’s Celine Broccolo for the 60 kilogram title.


USA Boxing National Developmental Coach Chad Wigle (Colorado Springs, Colo.) is leading the team during the competition, along with Edward Fonteneaux (Fayetteville, N.C.), Danilo Garcia (Oakland, Calif.), Blanca Gutierrez (Pacifica, Calif.) and Alex Love (Colorado Springs, Colo.).
