Quick Study: North freshman wins USA Boxing championship after moving from China #
It was only two years ago that Elsa Li came to the United States from China and started training in boxing for only a year.
Li has come a long way since then. She was named the 2023 USA Boxing Women’s Championship at 119 pounds in the Junior Female Novice Division last month in Toledo, Ohio.

Turlock boxer sets sights on Olympics, professional career
Christian Palacio of Turlock isn’t like most amateur boxers his age.
The 23-year-old Pitman High alumnus has only been boxing for about five years, accumulating a 14-4 amateur record at 156 pounds. Despite there being thousands of boxers across the nation who have been in the ring for their entire lives, the Turlocker has already earned a unique opportunity to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, France.

East Orange Campus HS Boxer Makes International Boxing Debut at the Youth Bradenburg Cup in Germany #
East Orange, NJ - The 2023 Youth Brandenburg Cup, held on August 12, 2023-August 19, 2023 in Lindow, Germany, welcomed over 100 boxers from nine different countries. East Orange's own Emmanuel Chance was one of the 13 boxers representing Team USA for this international competition.

Olympic hopeful Leroy Clark’s boxing career has taken wing
Growing up in northeast Georgia, Leroy Clark was never one to look for trouble. “I was raised better than that,” he said in a recent interview.
One day when he was 11 or so, though, trouble found him. A kid of similar age decided he wanted to throw down.

Old-school boxing and helping the homeless #
For Vince Arevalo and Ted Hohney, the words “those kids have got talent” mean more than either one could have imagined.
“My wife and I have two sons,” began Arevalo as he sat inside the front door to Brick3Boxing, “and we had tried to interest them in everything from chess to basketball.” He added that they were unsuccessful in their efforts, but that changed in 2020 until his family returned to the States after one of his wife’s military deployments.
