USA Boxing and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists “Coaching You Up” program to offer Flu Vaccines at 2023 Last Chance Qualifier

USA Boxing and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP)’s joint “Coaching You Up” program will be providing flu vaccines at the upcoming 2023 USA Boxing Last Chance Qualifier at the Pueblo Convention Center in Pueblo, Colo.

This marks the third national event where USA Boxing and ASCP work in sync promoting healthy living, education and vaccination free of charge for the local communities.  The Coaching You Up staff will be on-site all week answering questions and providing vaccine education in English and Spanish.  In addition, everyone is encouraged to attend the two vaccination clinics held on Monday, September 11 and Thursday, September 14 from noon to 2 p.m.

"Our goal is to KO Flu from the beginning of the fall season and the best way to prepare is by speaking to our local partners in health at Pharmcare USA.  As we have seen in prior events, these local pharmacists are not only regarded as skilled and trained health care professionals but also valued and trusted health coaches," said Mike McAtee, USA Boxing's Executive Director. 

"Keeping our boxers and their friends and families healthy is important, not only for their performance in the ring after years of training, but for the impact they have as leaders and role models within their local communities across the country.  We look forward to welcoming everyone to witness amateur Olympic-Style boxing, learning about the Coaching You Up program, as well as, taking advantage of the free vaccination clinics and supporting our boxers on their Team USA & Olympic journeys."

USA Boxing encourages spectators and members of the community to stop by the Coaching You Up booth to speak with our team of community educators and Pharmcare USA pharmacists to get the most up to date information on vaccines and boosters. Individuals are encouraged to bring their insurance cards and have some knowledge of their medical history; however, nobody will be turned away due to lack of documentation, language or status. Flu vaccines will be administered to all eligible individuals who request to take it, at no cost.

Coaching You Up program will also give free entrance to the first 10 spectators over the age of 55 each day to access to watch the boxing tournament.
