Emilio Garcia (Laredo Texas) and Shera Mae Patricio (Wainaie, Hawaii) pick up two more Team USA victories early Tuesday morning.

Garcia got things started for the stars and stripes as he defeated Robert Eusebiu Jitaru from Romania on a judges score of 4-1.

“Two down and two to go,” Garcia stated after his second win in Thailand. “We aren’t stopping until we get to the finals. Let’s take it home.”

Emilio Garcia will box again tomorrow for his third fight. Garcia is two wins away from punching his ticket to Paris. Garcia will go head-to-head with Joseph Comey out of Ghana.

Shera Mae Patricio made her Olympic Qualifier debut this morning and picked up a dominant win over Kazakhstan boxer, Ulzhan Sarsenbek. Patricio listening to her coaches and staying true to her game won every round of the bout, including the last two rounds where she took all five judges scorecards. Patricio would go on to win via a unanimous decision.

“First win out the way. I feel great and I was listening to my coaches and having fun out there. One fight at a time.” Stated Patricio after her first win in Bangkok.

Team USA is represented by seven boxers in Thailand who hope to punch their ticket to this summer’s 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The team is being guided by USA Boxing Head Coach Billy Walsh (Colorado Springs, Colo.), along with National Resident Coach Timothy Nolan (Rochester, N.Y.), as well as National Development Coach Chad Wigle (Colorado Springs, Colo.), along with assistant coaches Adonis Frazier (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Christine Lopez (Rowlett, Texas).
