Ohio put the nation on notice at the 2025 USA Boxing National Open

USA Boxing recently hosted the 2025 USA Boxing National Open inside the Arvest Convention Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The national event featured over 700 boxers competing in the male and female PeeWee, Bantam, Intermediate, Junior, Youth, and Elite divisions.

Throughout the event, the state of Ohio dominated from start to finish, boasting an impressive 69-36 record in Tulsa. Ohio contested a combined 105 bouts and earned a collective 65.7-win percentage throughout the event, giving them the highest winning percentage among all states represented at the 2025 USA Boxing National Open.

The state of Ohio logged 69 wins across all weight divisions and earned 16 National Open champions, which was the second most among all states. Of their 16 champions, 14 were male and two were female. Ohio dominated the Elite male division, specifically, with champions in four of the 10 weight classes. For context, no other state earned more than one champion within the Elite male division.

Within the Junior male division, Ohio earned three champions out of the 13 weight classes, once again the most among the states represented. The state of Texas finished with two champions in the Junior male division, marking the second-most among states represented. Finally, Ohio secured four more wins in the PeeWee male division, tied for the most champions with the state of Texas. Collectively, Ohio and Texas combined for eight of the 12 champions crowned within the PeeWee male division.

Ohio will look to carry the momentum into the 2025 USA Boxing National Championships this December in Lubbock, Texas. The National Championships will take place at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center from December 6 to 13.
