USA Boxing announced on March 30 that the dates and location for the 2026 USA Boxing National Open are finalized. The 2026 USA Boxing National Open will be held at the Cleveland Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio, from Sept. 26 to Oct. 3, 2026, in partnership with the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. This announcement officially brings USA Boxing’s 2026 national event calendar to five events this year.

By adding the 2026 USA Boxing National Open to this year’s national event calendar, this will mark the third consecutive year that USA Boxing will host the National Open tournament, and the first time it will host an event in Cleveland since 2022.

"We are incredibly proud to welcome USA Boxing back to Cleveland for the 2026 National Open," said David Gilbert, President & CEO of Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. "Cleveland has a storied history of producing elite, Olympic-style boxers, and hosting this event at the historic Cleveland Public Auditorium allows us to celebrate that legacy on a national stage. Beyond the competition, this tournament is expected to generate an estimated $3.4 million in economic impact, driving significant direct outside spending to Northeast Ohio."

The 2026 USA Boxing National Open is open to all ages and divisions, including PeeWees, Bantams, Intermediates, Juniors, Youth, Elites, and Masters. This tournament will also be open to non-citizens and boxers from any national federation worldwide, provided that they are in good standing with their national federation. Further, the 2026 USA Boxing National Open will grant USA Boxing members yet another opportunity to earn ranking points ahead of the 2026 USA Boxing National Championships inside the CAJUNDOME in Lafayette, La., December 5-13.

The 2026 USA Boxing National Open is a national ranking event and is classified as a Tier-2 tournament. Results from the event will contribute to the USA Boxing National Rankings. Additional rankings information and current USA Boxing rankings can be found HERE.

USA Boxing is excited to return to Cleveland, a city that has produced some of the top Olympic-style boxers from the United States. The city of Cleveland has produced an Olympic boxer at five consecutive Olympic Games, including 2024, when Morelle McCane competed and became the first female boxer from Cleveland to qualify for the Olympic Games. Before McCane, Ohio had three representatives at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, including silver medalist Duke Ragan, bronze medalist Oshae Jones and Cleveland’s own Delante Johnson.

Additionally, two of the top five winningest USA Boxing clubs of 2025 are located in Ohio: Team Cartel Elite Boxing and Real Deal Boxing. The 2026 USA Boxing National Open will be the final addition to the 2026 national events calendar.

USA Boxing has already conducted two national events this year, the International Open in February and the Women’s Championships in March. The 2026 USA Boxing National Junior Olympics and Summer Festival marks the next national event on the calendar and will take place from June 20 to 27, in Wichita, Kansas.
