Team USA Departs Today for International Tournaments in Bulgaria and Spain

Seven members of USA Boxing’s Olympic Qualification Team departed today from Colorado Springs, Colo. to compete in two international competitions in Bulgaria and Spain, respectively.
The team, which will be led by USA Boxing Head Coach Billy Walsh (Colorado Springs, Colo.), will compete first in Sophia, Bulgaria at the Strandja Tournament, Feb. 21-28, and then at the Boxam Tournament in Castellon, Spain, March 2-6. Additional coaches attending the event include Tim Back (Cincinnati, Ohio), Marc Gargaro (Newton, Mass.), Christine Lopez (Rowlett, Texas), Jeff Mays (San Antonio, Texas) and National Strength and Conditioning coach Jose Polanco (Colorado Springs, Colo.).
A full Strandja team roster can be seen below. An updated roster for Boxam will be announced prior to the start of the tournament.
