by USA Boxing

The USA Boxing Alumni Association will host a Michigan Alumni Celebration Banquet on Sunday, March 19 at the Fort Pontchartrain Ballroom at the Wyndham Hotel to honor the rich history of amateur boxing in the state of Michigan.

During the banquet USA Boxing Alumni Association will honor dozens of Michigan’s greatest amateur champions, coaches and officials, who have provided years of service to USA Boxing in the state of Michigan, as well as honor select alumni members with Lifetime Achievement Awards.

“Michigan has produced some of the most outstanding alumni that USA Boxing has ever seen,” said Chris Cugliari, USA Boxing Alumni Association Director.  “We look forward to celebrating those who have shaped our sport in the great state of Michigan.  This event will link past champions to future champions as our Alumni event will kick off the week of USA Boxing competition.”

The event, which will begin at 7:30 p.m, will be a ticketed event. Ronnie Duncan of CBS News Detroit will serve as the Master of Ceremonies, proclaiming “Anyone who knows me knows that boxing is my passion, and I have one purpose – and that is to spread that love and joy to the world.”

Tickets will be $75.00 per person and will include dinner. Limited tickets will be available for purchase here. There will be no tickets sold at the door.

The celebration banquet will be one of two events the USA Boxing Alumni Association will be hosting during the kickoff weekend to the 2023 USA Boxing National Qualifier, which will be held at the Huntington Place on March 20-25.

The weekend will kick off with a meet and greet at Thomas Magee’s Sports House on Saturday, March 18 at 4:00 p.m. This event will be open to the public.
