North Carolina
President#
Winner by Acclamation (Ran unopposed)
I am interested in continuing to serve on the Board of North Carolina Local Boxing Committee 13 (LBC 13) for many reasons.
The most important reason is to continue to advance Boxing in the state of North Carolina. I have served on the board as Vice President and also President and a Level II Official. My current volunteer service also includes working as a Coach in a USA Boxing registered gym with boxers actively participating in USA Boxing sanctioned events. As a coach, I understand that that our athletes comes first. The sole purpose of our program is for the advancement of Olympic style Boxing in North Carolina. I can closely relate to the long hours our boxers and Coaches sacrifice to participate in this sport. I am thankful to have coached boxers on the National level and I believe that all of our athletes should be provided the resources to have the same opportunity.
As the current President, I have always strived for LBC 13 to have a high standard our members can be proud of. Some of our accomplishments under my term are:
Fully functional, informative and user friendly website.
High social media presence
Started Elite travel team that participated in National events assisted by LBC 13 that produced a record number of National Champions at one one National event, Nationally ranked boxers and record turn out of Elite level boxers at National events at any one National Event.
Made funds available to assist boxers traveling across the US and National events.
Advocated for record number of sanctioned events giving our athletes more opportunities to compete in our state.
One of the first LBCs to use the electronic scoring system on the local level.
Established LBC policies and procedures.
Promoted LBC sparring events to build comradary among clubs/gyms.
These are just a few accomplishments that we, as an LBC have achieved together. I am running for the position of LBC President because I know I have the Leadership skills instilled in me by the Marines Corps and US Army to continue to grow our LBC and make it one of the best in USA Boxing.
Vice President#
Winner by Acclamation (Ran unopposed)
I have been involved in North Carolina LBC 13 for over 15 years. My passion and dedication as a Coach led me to volunteer as an Official. I wanted to join my board as Vice President to help make a difference in boxing in my state. After being elected Vice President, I have been working with the rest of the LBC Board to implement the needed changes. In addition to being an Official and Vice President, I serve as the Junior Olympic (JO) chair rallying to see our youth succeed in Olympic style boxing. I am the lead Coach in the Harnett County PAL where I mentor our youth and run our counties PAL program that assist at risk youth and give them a positive outlet. I have resources that have led to record number of sanctions in my state that include access to multiple rings, physicians and venues. Many of these resources I have donated to sanction holders to encourage more events our athletes can participate in. As Vice President I have fought to have more LBC funds available for our athletes to have a greater presence on the National level. It has resulted in more ranked athletes and record number of National participation in our state. I know that my dedication to see our members grow and succeed will carry on into the next four years. I am submitting my name David Hornsby for a candidate of Vice President. I am asking for your vote to help push our LBC even further as an example all LBC across the nation can follow.
Secretary#
Winner by Acclamation (Ran unopposed)
Hello! I'm Heidi Tufte and I'm running for the position of secretary of LBC 13. I've been involved in the combat sports industry for almost two decades. I spent much of that time in the professional boxing realm as a boxer's wife, manager, matchmaker, and consultant. Then I became involved with USA Boxing. I started out by sanctioning events in my LBC. I quickly learned how much I love the USA Boxing organization. I dove in after that and filled the interim secretary position. I've been serving in that role for the last 10 months as well as filling the role of social media coordinator.
My boxing education comes from almost two decades of experience. I believe that the best way to learn is to do. I believe in learning from mistakes and and growing as I move forward. Being able to adapt is important in boxing and can aid in personal development and education.
As an LBC leader, it is my responsibility to help lead and guide our LBC. In order to do that, it is important to be a team player. I can work well with others even in stressful situations. A few other qualities that I possess that are relative to this position are that I'm detail oriented, highly organized, and very motivated. I try to maintain a positive attitude and work hard for LBC 13.

My experience as a government employee gives me discipline, attention to detail and organizational skills that will make an ideal candidate to work on the board in this LBC. I am submitting my name as a candidate for Treasurer. Your vote will allow us to work together as a team and continue to grow our LBC for years to come.
Chief of Officials#
Winner by Acclamation (Ran unopposed)
As a young girl I have always loved the sport of boxing. I have been a USA boxing official for over 20 years now. I have served as Chief Official for most of my tenure. Currently a national official since 2016. In doing so I have worked as a computer tech as well as female weigh mistress on the national level. February of this year I placed in the top 10. Knowledge, I learn at the nationals I bring back to the grass root level. Under my leadership we have recruited several new officials as I continue to give new/current official’s clinics. The officials are always open/excited about new information.
I am very passionate about this sport and position as Chief of Official. Being involved I have spent a lot of time away from my family, the majority of my vacation time and a lot of my own money. I feel when we help the boxers we are also helping and giving back to the community. With that said, if we only touch one life, which I hope we continue to touch many, we have done our job.
My career has always been in banking/investment. I retired as an investment professional in 2014 from an investment firm.
I know work for a verification company. My initial position was a fingerprint technician. I am currently a Drug Test Specialist. Which my current duties include registering the drug tests, making sure the candidates receive the email to go take their drug test while checking the status and updating the results once they are back. In addition, I work with clinics to schedule additional testing that maybe required.
I graduated with a high school diploma, then went to Beauty School, completed the course, and received my cosmetologist license. I have been a hairstylist for over 35 years.
At the beginning of each school year, we open at the salon the Sunday before the first day of school. This is done strictly for kids in the shelters and do their hair at no cost to help them to feel good about themselves as they embark in the new school year. As well as giving back to the community. We also provide lunch for them.
