Chicago nonprofit helps girls unlock inner strength through boxing
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A local organization has found a unique way to connect with girls.
The program, "Fight like a Girl," teaches young ladies the fundamentals of boxing, but the girls are doing a lot more than throwing punches.
The program is all about helping young ladies unlock their inner strength.

Graham aims for title defence as USA Boxing names Santiago 2023 squad
Naomi Graham will bid to defend her Pan American Games women's middleweight title after being named in the 13-strong United States boxing squad for Santiago 2023.
Graham is the only Olympian to be selected after her appearance at Tokyo 2020, where she was team captain and exited in the first round.

All-women boxing event raising awareness about breast cancer
It was a first for the Youngstown area, an All-Women's Boxing event that has a special meaning.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, female boxers from several states and even Canada came together to celebrate their sport while raising awareness of the disease.

Owasso amateur boxer qualifies for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials
OWASSO, Okla. — An amateur boxer from Owasso is heading to the U.S. Olympic Trials in December.
Neida Ibarra, 28, picked up amateur boxing at the age of 21 to stay in shape. Eventually, her trainer suggested she sign up for a fight.

Local amateurs compete in USA Boxing event in London
USA Boxing-sanctioned amateur competition returned to London on October 7.
Amateur boxers from Louisville, Campbellsville, Somerset, Lexington, Richmond; as well as several boxers from Tennessee and even the Sudan competed in only the fourth amateur boxing competition in London's history.

Pontiac boxer aims to compete in 2024 Summer Olympics
PONTIAC, Mich. – Last month, 20-year-old Kentrell Rouser of Pontiac qualified for the USA Boxing Olympic Trials.
