2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Boxing Wild Card Application Opens Oct. 1

The Wild Card application to round out the 16-person brackets of the 13 weight classes that will be contested in Lafayette, La. at this December’s 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials is now open online and will remain open until Saturday, Oct. 14.

Each weight class has an allotted amount of open Wild Card spots and can be seen below.
The Wild Card spots are for boxers who did not qualify through one of the qualification pathways in the Olympic Trials Qualification. To be eligible for a Wild Card selection, a boxer must meet a minimum of one of the below criteria. Meeting a criteria does not guarantee a Wild Card selection.
i. Medalist at an Elite World Championships
ii. Medalist at an Elite Continental Championships or Pan American Games
iii. Medalist at a Youth World Championships
iv. Medalist at a Youth Pan American Games or Youth Continental Championships
v. 2022 Elite High Performance Team Member
vi. Medalist at the 2022 USA Boxing Elite National Championships in an Olympic weight category.
vii. 2023 Youth High Performance Team Member
viii. Medalist at a 2024 Olympic Trials for Boxing Qualifier in an Olympic weight category
ix. Medalist at the 2022 Youth National Championships in an Olympic weight category
x. Top 2 place finish at a 2024 Olympic Trials for Boxing Qualification event in the youth division in an Olympic weight category
xi. Top 4 place finish at a 2022 National Championships Qualification Event in the elite division.
Boxers who qualify through Wild Card selection must confirm their participation in the 2024 Olympic Trials no later than November 4, 2023.
