Session 1, Bout 5 (Approx. 11:00 p.m. EST)

The round of 16 for the men’s lightweight division will get underway after a few days of rest since the first round of competition. Davis put on an impressive performance in the opening round, taking all five judges’ cards over the Netherlands to set up the matchup against the top-seeded Sofiane Oumiha of France.

Oumiha received the bye in the first round of competition due to his seeding, however, he brings years of experience, having finished second at the 2016 Rio Olympics and went on to win the 2017 Elite Men’s World Championships.

Davis and Oumiha went head-to-head at the 2019 Elite Men’s World Championships quarterfinals, where Oumiha was the second seed. Davis ended up taking the unanimous decision victory in route to his silver medal performance, however, the Frenchman is not to be overlooked and is expected to be an exciting bout.
