2021 Boxam Tournament Begins Tomorrow

Eight members of USA Boxing’s Olympic Qualification Team will compete in the 2021 Boxam Tournament in Castellón, Spain, set to begin tomorrow. A full first round matchups can be seen below.

This year’s tournament has over 100 boxers from 17 different countries scheduled to compete.

Team USA will be looking to improve on their two-medal performance during last week’s Strandja Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria, which saw Naomi Graham (Fayetteville, N.C.) win gold and Virginia Fuchs (Houston, Texas) win bronze.

Charlie Sheehy (Brisbane, Calif.) will be the first American to step into the ring tomorrow, with the session beginning at 10:00 a.m. EST.

The team will be under the guidance of National Head Coach Billy Walsh (Colorado Springs, Colo.), along with National Strength and Conditioning Coach Jose Polanco (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and assistant coaches Tim Back (Cincinnati, Ohio), Marc Gargaro (Newton, Mass.), Christine Lopez (Rowlett, Texas) and Jeff Mays (San Antonio, Texas).
