Team USA Falls Short on Third Day of 2021 Boxam Tournament

Team USA put up a hard fight during the third day of boxing at the 2021 Boxam Tournament in Spain, however, fell short of claiming victories to advance to the next round of competition. 

Anthony Herrera (East Los Angeles, Calif.) and Bruce Carrington (Brooklyn, N.Y.) ended on the opposite side of a 3-2 decision against their opponents Ibrahim Boukedim of France and Serik Temirzhanov of Kazakhstan, respectively, while Charlie Sheehy (Brisbane, Calif.) and Darius Fulghum (Houston, Texas) fell by way of unanimous decision to their competitors.  


While today was not the Americans day, competition continues for
Rashida Ellis (Lynn, Mass.), Virginia Fuchs (Houston, Texas) and Naomi Graham (Fayetteville, N.C.), with all three boxers competing in their weight classes semifinal bouts and guaranteed at least a bronze medal.
