USA Boxing National Championships Update - COVID-19 Testing Requirements

by USA Boxing

(These are the minimum standards subject to change based on current information.)

In order to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus, this document is meant to provide protocols on who and when those attending the National Championships need to be COVID tested.  (This document provides testing specifics in addition to the required protocols in the USA Boxing Back to Boxing Guide posted on the website.)

All Officials, Staff, Coaches and Boxers (Youth and Elite Divisions) will be REQUIRED to be COVID tested within 72 hours prior to the event and show documentation of negative results at check-in. Those with a positive result will not be permitted to attend the National Championships and need to let the National Office know immediately. (All other boxer age divisions do NOT require COVID testing.)

PLEASE NOTE: Officials, Staff, Coaches and Boxers (Youth and Elite Divisions) who have had at least one dose of the COVID vaccine or have contracted COVID between January 1 and March 15, 2021 and are willing to provide documentation at check-in will NOT need to be tested.  (Following HIPPA standards, providing the documentation is voluntary; however, if someone doesn’t provide documentation then they will be subject to the Nationals COVID testing protocols.)

Antigen COVID Rapid Tests will be administered at a designated COVID testing location throughout the event to all Officials, Staff, and Boxers (Youth and Elite Divisions).  USA Boxing will pay for these tests.  Coaches will not be required to be tested again.

• Youth and Elite Boxers will be tested at their first day of weigh-ins for competition and will be identified on their credential after a negative Antigen test.  Those with a positive result will not be permitted to participate and will be subject to quarantine regulations.

• Staff and Officials will be tested multiple times during the event and will be notified of their assigned testing dates, times, and location via email.  Those with a positive result will not be permitted to participate and will be subject to quarantine regulations.

Please check the USA Boxing website for updated COVID Testing information.
