USA Boxing Looks to Close Out 2021 on a High Note

After bringing home four medals from Tokyo, USA Boxing’s High Performance staff now looks to the next generation of Olympic hopefuls leading into the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.


The first step will be the 2021 Elite Men’s and Women’s World Championships, with the Men’s World Championships scheduled for Oct. 24-Nov. 6 in Belgrade, Serbia, while the Women’s World Championships dates will be finalized in the coming weeks. 



The USA Boxing evaluation and selection camp, which began Sept. 22, has brought 20 boxers from across the country to be evaluated by the USA Boxing coaching staff to determine the boxers who will represent Team USA at their respective World Championships.

Boxers selected to compete at the World Championships will compete in the weight classes USA Boxing believes will be the weight classes contested at the 2024 Olympic Games.

13 members of USA Boxing’s youth high performance team will close out their year on Team USA at the first ever Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia. The boxers qualified this summer by finishing in the top eight of their weight class at the Junior Pan American Games Qualifier in Guadalajara, Mexico. The boxing competition in Colombia is scheduled to take place Nov. 26-Dec. 1. The list of American boxers that have qualified can be found here. 



Boxers looking to earn a place on USA Boxing’s 2022 High Performance Teams will take to the ring this December in Shreveport, La. at the 2021 USA Boxing National Championships. USA Boxing will announce the 2022 High Performance selection procedures, as well as a look into the schedule for those teams in the coming weeks.
