USA Boxing Announces New Minimum Bout Requirement for Elite Male Boxers at Summer Festival

by USA Boxing

USA Boxing announced today the minimum bout requirement for elite male boxers to compete at this July’s Summer Festival in Lubbock, Texas has been reduced to 10 from 15.

“With the country opening in different phases, and  lack of competition opportunities last year for our boxers, with the recommendation of our Coaches’ Commission, R/J Commission and LBC leaders, we have decided to lower the minimum bout requirement for elite male boxers to allow more boxers the opportunity to compete this summer in Lubbock,” stated Mike McAtee, USA Boxing Executive Director.

Elite boxers will need to have those 10 bouts in their MatchTracker profile, along with other required verifications, before registering for the event. If you have missing bouts in your MatchTracker,

The maximum bout requirement of 15 bouts will remain for boxers competing in the collegiate division, therefore collegiate boxers between 10-15 bouts will have the choice of boxing in the collegiate or elite division.

This year’s National Junior Olympics will include the inaugural Summer Festival, which gives increased competition opportunities to our members after a 2020 that lacked competitions. The 2021 Summer Festival will include boxers in the pee wee, youth, elite and collegiate divisions.
